PopularCall of Dutyleaker Tom Henderson Tweeted out a small note in reference toCall of Duty2021. After disclosingaccurate leaks aboutCall of Duty: Cold War,Modern Warfare, and many other titles he has gained a reputation for being a trusted source.
Based on his Tweet, it seems thatCall of Duty2021 will end up being aCall of Duty: Modern Warfaretitle. His guess is that the game will be in a modern-day setting and maybe follow in the footsteps ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.This would be the logical next step, but that does not mean Activision has the same thought in mind.
This early on, everything is speculation when it comes toCall of Duty2021’s content. There is no telling where or what Activision will do next, and there is no guarantee that Infinity Ward is involved. Activision has several studios available to work ontheCall of Dutyfranchise, and new blood may be needed to reinvent the series for the next console generation.
Still, Tom Henderson can not be easily dismissed. His track record with leaks is well known amongtheCall of Dutycommunity, soModern Warfaremay very well be the next title in the series. This would not be a bad move on Activision’s part due to the game’s popularity alone.
If this is true, then Infinity Ward and Raven Studios would be the natural pick for the next game’s development team. There is still a lot that could beexplored in theModern Warfareuniverse, and Activision has already shown an aptitude at rebooting old storylines. Players will have to wait and see what comes next after the full release ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waron November 13th.
