All these characters have to start from somewhere, whether good or bad. For the rare few, they had encouraging and protective parents that would do anything for their children. From biological parents that never got to see their children grow up to adoptive parents who bonded with their kin, theStar Warsfranchise has some of the best parents in the galaxy.
8Dathan & Miramir
Despite Rey being led to believe that her parents abandoned her on Jakku, Dathan and Miramir did everything they could to protect their daughter. Dathan was a clone of Darth Sidious, created by the Sith Eternal cult to preserve his essence. But as Dathan didn’t have a strong connection with the Force, he was deemed a failure and used solely to continue Palpatine’s bloodline. After rejecting the Sith and escaping Exegol, Dathan married Miramir and they had Rey, who would turn out to be Force-sensitive and, therefore, a prime candidateto continue her grandfather’s reignas the Dark Lord of the Sith.
As Dathan and Miramir realized this, they fled to Jakku and tried to earn a living as junk traders. They struggled to survive but succeeded in keeping their daughter safe for at least a while. But it wasn’t long until Sith cultist Ochi was ordered to find Rey, which resulted in Dathan and Miramir hiring Unkar Plutt to keep their daughter hidden. Unfortunately, her parents were captured and killed after refusing to tell Ochi where Rey was.

7Hunter
Young cloneOmega tags along with Clone Force 99inThe Bad Batchafter feeling a kinship with the group of genetically mutated clones. While finding friendship with all the clones in the group, Omega found a deep connection with Hunter. As the series progresses, he begins to feel obligated to look out for her and becomes a father figure. He’s almost always in protective dad mode around Omega, ensuring she doesn’t get into trouble while teaching her what she needs to know to survive.
As it comes to be known that Omega is actually an unaltered clone of Jango Fett, meaning she’s Jango’s daughter and Boba’s sister, bounty hunters begin to hunt her down. Hunter and the Bad Batch do everything they can to protect her, thanks to the bonds they’ve all formed by traveling together.

6Galen & Lyra Erso
Like Rey’s parents, Galen and Lyra Erso did everything possible to protect their daughter, Jyn. Galen was a scientist who ended up working for the Empire after being told he’d be helping to develop sustainable energy involving kyber crystals but was unknowingly using his expertise on the superweapon program Project Celestial Power for the Death Star. The Ersos eventually went into hiding from the Empire with the help of rebel Saw Gerrera.
They lived a quiet life on the planet Lah’mu for some time but always had a plan in place if things were to go awry. That plan was put into effect when the family was found by the Imperials. Lyra was killed in front of Galen and Jyn (who was in hiding), and her father was then captured. Jyn eventually found Galen as an adult but was too late to save him and he died in her arms.

5Bail & Breha Organa
Senator Bail Organa helped Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi escape the Empire and agreed to raise one of the Skywalker twins with his wife, Breha Organa, Queen of Alderaan. They took their daughter Leia back to Alderaan, where they raised her to one day rule the planet as her birthright.

Despite only vaguely being told about her birth parents, Leia was happy with the family she had. The princess was doted on by her mother and father, who facilitated their daughter’s headstrong and adventurous personality as a young child. However, after a visit from a cousin during the events ofObi-Wan Kenobi, Leia felt doubtful about her lineage, telling her father that she wasn’t “even a real Organa.” In response, Bail told her: “Don’t ever say that. You are our child. You are an Organa in every way.”
4Owen & Beru Lars
Son of Cliegg Lars and Shmi Skywalker’s stepson, Owen, started dating Beru Whitesun when Shmi was kidnapped and killed by Tusken Raiders. Owen and Beru eventually married and became the adopted parents of Luke Skywalker following the death of his mother, Padme Amidala.
Owen was led to believe that Anakin died due to being a Jedi but wasn’t told that he turned to the dark side and became Darth Vader. To prevent this fate from happening to Luke, he forbade Obi-Wan from being in contact with the child or training him to become a Jedi. Instead,Owen and Beru raised Luke to work on their farmstead, following in Owen’s footsteps so they could protect him and keep him safe. However, they did let him tinker in their workshop, which would lead to the acquisition of R2-D2 and the death of Luke’s adoptive parents due to the droid containing secret plans of the Death Star.

3Han Solo & Leia Organa
A year after the battle of Endor, Han Solo, and Leia Organa had a child, Ben Solo. Despite Ben succumbing to the dark side later in life, Han and Leia tried to give their son a happy and fulfilled upbringing. But this would eventually see the couple return to work (Han as a mentor pilot, Leia as a senator), leaving Ben in the care of a droid caretaker. Ben quickly began resenting his parents for leaving him, and for not being open aboutthe Skywalker family’s past, as detailed inStar Wars: Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Discovery.
Both Han and Leia never gave up on their son, despite the atrocities he would commit under the dark side’s influence. They always believed there was good in him, and both sacrificed their lives to prove this. Han and Leia also became parental figures to Rey, alongside Luke Skywalker.

2Jango Fett
TheMandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fettwas hired by Sith Lord Tyranus as the genetic template for a clone army. He agreed, but on one condition – that he could have a genetically unaltered clone of his own to raise as a son. His wish was granted, and Jango raised a genetic clone of himself known as Boba.

Jango trained Boba to become as renowned a bounty hunter and mercenary as he was, wanting his legacy to live on through Boba. Jango taught his son how to survive in the galaxy, and the two shared a deeply close bond. So when Mace Windu killed Jango in front of Boba’s eyes, the young bounty hunter made it his mission to avenge his father’s death. Despite a few attempts, Dark Sidious struck the final blow to the Jedi.
1Din Djarin
Lone Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Darin was hired by The Client to retrieve an “asset.” But when he found the target, he soon discovered that it was, in fact,a Force-sensitive youngling called Grogu. They formed a profound bond in their little time together, resulting in Din rescuing Grogu from The Client and scientist Dr. Pershing after initially delivering him to them. Since then, Din has done everything he can to keep Grogu safe.
As a clan of two, Din made it his mission to reunite Grogu with his kind. Despite their deep connection as father and son, Din let Grogu train with Luke Skywalker for two years. It was Grogu’s decision to return after he was asked to choose between a lightsaber and a chainmail chest piece made from Din’s Beskar Spear. Din is very encouraging of Grogu’s way of the Force (even though he has no idea how it works) while simultaneously teaching his son the way of their people, the Mandalorians.
