Summary
WithManor Lordsbeing in the very early stages of Early Access, many features of the historical city builder are a work in progress or unfortunately unbalanced. As such, many players are turning towards mods while they await patches and updates.
While most of thebestManor Lordsmodsare about fixing small issues, removing limitations, and improving the quality of life, some mods add new content. For example, players can import custom coats of arms or install new models to replace the default lord used in third-person mode.

1Texture Upscale Project
Improves The Textures Of Terrain & Foliage
On the whole,Manor Lordsruns very well on most PCs and only struggles when players build exceptionally large towns. As such, most can probably handle a slight loss in FPS in return for incredibly more detailed textures provided by the Texture Upscale Project.
This mod enhances the textures of some terrain, trees, and flowers that are otherwise distorted. This helps make thegame look even more beautiful, specifically when players zoom in or walk around in visit mode.

2Storage Plus Plus
Increases The Storage Capacity Of All Buildings
Getting constant notifications about buildings being at max capacity and having production ground to a halt as a result of it can be quite annoying inManor Lords. Thankfully, there is a mod to solve this problem, as Storage Plus Plus increases the storage of all buildings. This includesBackyard Extensionssuch as Bakeries, which are particularly prone to becoming full.
While such a mod could be seen as cheating, as managing stock levels is part and parcel of the game,Manor Lordsat the end of the day is a single-player experience, and players should not feel bad for simply wanting to enjoy it in their own way.

3Increased Garrison Limit
With Four Garrison Towers, Players Can Have A Much Larger Garrison
WhileManor Lordsis not supposed to be about large-scale warfare liketheTotal Wargames, that doesn’t stop players from enjoying the immersive battles and wishing for more. Currently, players can only build one Garrison Tower, meaning they can only have a maximum of 24 men-at-arms in their retinue.
The Increased Garrison Limit mod, however, allows players to build four Garrison Towers, meaning their ranks can increase to a maximum of 60. With the town’s militia and hired mercenaries in tow, players will soon have quite the army. On top of arguably being more fun for those who enjoy this aspect of the game, having more men will alsohelp players conquer more land inManor Lords.

4Play As A Knight In Visit Mode
Players Can Choose Between Three Armor Variations
Several mods replace the lord used in third-person visit mode, including ones that enable players to walk around their village as Shrek, Geralt of Rivia, orHenry of Skalitz fromKingdom Come: Deliverance.
However, as these are gimmicky and draw away from the historical immersion, perhaps the best option for most players would be a mod that allows players to become medieval knights. This is where the Play as a Knight in Visit Mode mod comes in, and impressively, players even have three options of armor to choose from.

5Game Of Thrones Coat Of Arms
Allows Players To Use Iconic Sigils From The Show
Customization in games is always appreciated, and inManor Lords, players are not only able to make their own coats of arms before loading in, but they are also able to import custom images. Their coat of arms will always be visible in the top right corner, but impressively, it will also appear on military banners, making battles feel all the more epic.
With this in mind, dedicated players have started making collections of custom banners, and one of the most popular for obvious reasons is the Game of Thrones Coat of Arms mod. This collection includes beautifully made sigils for the main Houses of Westeros, allowing players to roleplay to their heart’s content. This mod makesManor Lordsone of the latestgames to feature greatGame of Thronesmods.

6FreeSkills
Players Can Unlock The Development Points They Want
While some players enjoy the challenge of a game likeManor Lords, trying to min-max the village and survive against the harshest odds, others are looking for a more relaxing time. A mod such as FreeSkills can help with this, as it enables players to unlockthe Development Points they want, without having to unlock others first.
As the current version of the game only allows six Development Points to be unlocked per region, players are limited in the new technology they can acquire. Therefore, unlocking certain unwanted points merely to gain access to others feels bad. This simple mod takes that problem away.
