Asfans questioned the extended silence onDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s DLC plans, publisher Bandai Namco confirmed that DLC 3 will focus on a fan favorite story arc. Yet, some fans may be disappointed that it will only be a small part of the central character’s narrative.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s next DLC will beTrunks: The Warrior of Hope, a retelling of the tragic tale of Future Trunks. Many fans welcomed the news that one of the more somber tales in theDragon Balluniverse would be realized withinDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s RPG based gameplay. While the announcement trailer confirmed that players would relive the “origin” story of Future Trunks, there were those that questioned if it would go further. The official Bandai Namco DE Twitter account confirmed thatTrunks: The Warrior of Hopewould only focus on the original Future Trunks storyline. AsDragon Ball Z: Kakarotplayers have requested the move intoDragon Ball Supercontent,Trunks: The Warrior of HopeDLC will not feature the transition. The tweet, which was in response to another Twitter user, was blunt in confirming that there will be no link toDragon Ball Superstories. The tweet, as translated through Google, states that DLC Pack 3 will only focus onDragon Ball Zcontent.

Dragon Ballfans are more than familiar with theZstory of Future Trunks, the character central to the franchise’s revered “Cell” arc. While most fans know Future Trunk’s original tale, the story did not end there. The son of the Saiyan prince Vegeta would find more struggles ahead as the future is placed in peril again.Dragon Ball Supersaw the return of Future Trunks within the plainly named “Future Trunks Saga.” Set as the third major story arc of the most recent iteration ofDragon Ball, it saw Future Trunks deal with Kais, Gods, and a frightening foe in Goku Black. It was because of all this that some fans hoped the story of Future Trunks would move into theDragon Ball Superstory arc. With Bandai Namco’s recent tweet however, it seems that the “Z” inDragon Ball Z: Kakarotlimits how far the story can go.

With the confirmation from an official Bandai Namco source, it appears fans will have to keep waiting until a possible “Dragon Ball Super: Kakarot” releases in the future. WhileKakarotwon’t be the transition point, it does not mean that Bandai Namco is only focused onDragon Ball Zalone. The publisher of allDragon Ballvideo games continues to bring content from all eras of Akira Toriyama’s manga to gamers. Just recently, it was confirmed thatDragon Ball GT’s Super Saiyan 4 Gotega will be added toDragon Ball FighterZ. So as many await the move toSuper, they may have to go throughDragon Ball GTfirst.
