This adherence to the gameplay of tabletop RPGs means that there are many ways to solve problems throughout the game. Sometimes the solution to a puzzle or a difficult battle is not what you would expect. The tutorials only go so far in explaining the basics. The ability to Fly is extremely useful in all sorts of situations. Here is how you can get characters to Fly inBaldur’s Gate 3.
Grant Flight Spell
TheGrant Flight spellis what you needto give party membersthe temporary ability to fly. It is a Level 3 transmutation spell that targets one character at first. When this spell levels up, you can grant additional allies the ability to fly. The ability lasts 10 turns. Flying does not cost a bonus action like jumping. This means you can have a whole party of characters zipping around during combat. It can come in handy in combat areas with lots of verticality or bottomless chasms.
How to Learn Grant Flight
The Grant Flight spell can be learned by anyLevel 5 sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, and druids.Bards can also learn the spell at Level 6 or 10 by pursuing the College of Lore subclass. This allows bards to learn “Magical Secrets” by learning two spells that belong to other classes.
If you miss the Grant Flight spell through conventional leveling up, you can find Scrolls of Grant Flight. Do not waste these single-use scrolls in a fight.Wizards can learn spells directly from scrollsfor a small price of gold. Use this to your advantage if you ever accidentally skip an important spell.
How to Use Fly
Once you have the Grant Flight spell, you may need to open up the Spellbook and assign it to the character. This is where you can drag the spell onto the hotbar on PC.On the console versions,preparing spells in the Spellbook will place them on that character’s radial menu. You can edit its placement and swap its spot on the radial menu if you choose to.
As long as you have a Level 3 spell slot or higher, you can cast the Grant Flight spell. Choose a nearby character and give them the ability to fly. This is not automatic. You then have to chooseFly as a separate action that’s been added to the radial menuor hotbar. Use this ability to flank enemies or descend treacherous terrain.
