Avowedis one of the year’s most highly anticipated games, as it’s been a considerable wait since the game was first announced at the 2020 Xbox Games Showcase. Now that the game finally has a fall release window, more information aboutAvowedhas been trickling through, revealing what players can expect from the first-person fantasy RPG.
Players take on the role of investigating a strange mystical plague that has been corrupting the citizens of the Living Lands.Avowedhas remained quite secretiveabout the game’s overall story and world, but there has finally been a glimpse at which characters will be available for players to choose as companions. There are four companions to choose from: Giatta, Kai, Marius, and Yatzli. Each character is unique in their own right, but Giatta and Yatzli present a difficult choice for players when balancing their party.

Giatta Castell is an authority-adverse scientist who lost her parents in a tragic lab accident. Her main motivation is to complete the work and research of her parents. A leaning towards science could prove an interesting mix, as science and magic can be an exciting match. Ultimately, though, how Giatta handlesAvowed’s combat scenariosis the most important decision when deciding between her and Yatzli.
Yatzli, the Scholar
There isn’t as much known about Yatzli, but she is a scholar who studies Godless, an ancient race that once inhabited the Living Lands. Her personality is currently known to be flirtatious and bubbly, and it will be interesting to see how such a chipper character goes about fighting.The skills inAvowedare going to play an important role in its gameplay, and it will be exciting to see how Yatzli differs from Giatta despite both being wizards.
Two Sides of the Same Coin
It seems like Giatta and Yatzli may be mirror images of each other, as both appear to be intelligent wizards with their own unique abilities and interests. AsAvowed’s fall release windowdraws closer, there will hopefully be even more information revealed about the companion characters, so it will be easier to make the choice between the two wizards on the first playthrough. Since both Giatta and Yatzli are the same class type, the characters must differ in some major ways in order forAvowedto justify offering two wizards as partners.
The balance of a player’s party is completely subjective, and there may even be players who use both wizards as companions.
