Ubisoft confirms thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill use the Xbox Series X Smart Delivery feature when it releases in holiday 2020. In February, CD Projekt RED also confirmed thatCyberpunk 2077would use Xbox Series X Smart Delivery, letting fans get a free upgrade.
TheAssassin’s Creed Valhallaproduct listing on Amazon confirms that the game will use Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X. This allows players to buy the game once and play it on Xbox One or Xbox Series X “when the both the console and that version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are available.” The wording of this description does make it sound likeAssassin’s Creed Valhallamay not be a launch title and that it could be available after the Xbox Series X release date, though this has not been confirmed.

IfAssassin’s Creed Valhallasupports Xbox Series X Smart Delivery, then it is much more likely that Ubisoft’s other, in-development titles will also use it. The developer has confirmed plans to bringWatch Dogs Legionto next-gen consoles, though thegame has been delayedwith no new release date announced.
Fans will likely be very happy to hear thatAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and potentiallyWatch Dogs Legion, will use Smart Delivery because of how big they are.Assassin’s Creed Valhallawill featureViking battles, raids, and assaults, and there will also be stronghold building. This could take players hours to get through and many won’t want to leave that behind just because they are moving from Xbox One to Xbox Series X. Features like Smart Delivery allow players to easily take that with them and enjoy the game’s better graphics and loading times on the new console.
