Anime heroes have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders. This is because whatever decisions they make usually end up affecting the outcome of the story, the lives of the people around them, and, obviously, their own. This is why they need to be extra careful with their decisions.

Despite this need for caution, there are many anime characters who always seem to choose the wrong option. Their bad decisions caused a lot of problems and yet they never learned from their mistakes. They instead continued to make poor decisions, either because nobody ever tried to stop them or they just didn’t pay attention when people did.

7Eren Yeager (Attack On Titan)

Eren Yeager is the main characterofAttack on Titan. At the beginning of the story, Eren was a kind-hearted individual, who cared about the people around him. He joined the Survey Corps with the goal of helping mankind to survive the onslaught of Titans.

As a young man, Eren made many bad decisions such as when he decided to interrupt Bertholt and Reiner, who were discussing their plans for the future of Paradis Island. He purposely made the Survey Corps attack Marley, which infuriated Marley and caused them to launch a full-scale war. However, Eren’s biggest error was thinking that annihilating more than half of the world’s population would make things better.

6Yagami Light (Death Note)

Yagami Light is one of the smartest anime characters of all time, but he is not beyond making mistakes. For the most part of the series, Light was in the driving seat, and no one was able to find out his secret. He manipulated all the people around him, which included a shinigami and even his own father.

Light felt no remorse for his actions, and, in fact, his small victories drove him on. Light’s first big mistake was killing fake L, who appeared on TV. This allowed the real L to find out Light’s location. Later on,Light made several smaller mistakessuch as trusting other people, which eventually led to his downfall. While Light did not make many mistakes, the stakes were so high that even the smallest bad decision could lead to his death, which is ultimately what ends up happening.

5Son Goku (Dragon Ball)

Goku is an incredible fighter, who mainly cares about becoming stronger. Goku’s search for strong opponents and challenges has landed him and the people around him in trouble on countless occasions. For example, when Cell was defeated,Goku decided to give him a Senzu Beanas he believed Gohan would win the fight. This helped the villain get back to full health and allowed him to cause a lot of destruction.

When Cell was about to explode, Goku teleported him to King Kai’s planet, and it resulted in his own death and the destruction of the planet, yet Cell still managed to survive. Goku was also responsible for the Tournament of Power, as he was the person who brought it up while meeting Zeno. The resulting tournament led to the destruction of multiple universes, and it would have remained that way if Android 17 had not wished for them to be restored.

4Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto)

Sasuke Uchiha is the rival of Naruto Uzumaki. The two of them have been rivals ever since they were kids. Over time, they became the best of friends, but that didn’t happen until the very end of the series. Before that, Sasuke made multiple bad decisions, which made him a hated character.

Sasuke left the village and began his training under Orochimaru. The training allowed him to become stronger, but Sasuke got carried away and fought people such as Deidara, Lightning A, and Danzo. While fighting against these opponents, Sasuke needed the help of other people to survive. Also, his attack on the Raikage made him an international criminal, which made it difficult for Naruto and co. to defend his actions. In fact, Naruto ended up taking a beating because of Sasuke.

3Midoriya Izuku (My Hero Academia)

Originally, Midoriya did not have a quirk, which made it impossible for him to pursue his dream of becoming a hero. However, after meeting All Might, Midoriya’s luck changed as the hero decided to pass down his quirk to the young kid.

It tookMidoriya a lot of time to get used to the quirk’s power. While he was still learning how to use the quirk, Midoriya would often end up injuring his limbs, which landed him in the hospital numerous times. Midoriya also has the bad habit of rushing into situations without thinking and then other people are forced to jump in to save him.

2Ash Ketchum (Pokemon)

Ash Ketchum has constantly been criticized by fans because of one mistake that he keeps on repeating. Whenever Ash is about to move from an old region and enter a new one, he always leaves behind his Pokemon.

This decision has never helped him as it took Ash many years before he actually managed to win something. Ash never thought for a second that keeping his older Pokémon with him could help him to win.

1Okuyasu (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Nijimura Okuyasu is among the main characters ofJoJo’s Bizzare Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable. Okuyasu possesses one ofthe strongest Stands in the entire series. The Stand is capable of erasing anything from existence, which is an extremely overpowered ability.

Sadly, Okuyasu is not smart enough to use it properly, and he was beaten by characters with far weaker Stands. Okuyasu has also helped villains to escape because of his decisions such as when he enabled Red Hot Chili Pepper to escape by reducing the distance to a nearby electric pipeline.
