Tales of Kenzera: Zaumay not be the most progression-focusedMetroidvania game out there, but it does offer enough items to enhance itseight-to-ten-hour-long campaign. Players can equip Zau with Trinkets, special items that give your character much-needed bonuses, whether it’s a damage buff, resistance buff, or something else.

The game features a total of 11 Trinkets, andacquiring all of them unlocks a trophy. One Trinket is given to the player for free, while the other ten are rewards for completing Spirit challenges. These challenges are platforming courses designed to test players' jumping and dashing skills. You can even replay the challenges after beating them for the first time.

Battering Stance Trinket

The Battering Stance Trinket is the first Trinket encountered in the game, and it’s pretty hard to miss as the game practically hand-holds you toward it. Early in the game, while chasing the girl and reaching the bridge, it will collapse, sending you down toward thenew area called Buluu Caverns. As you progress along the linear path, you will encounter a breakable wall. Destroying it reveals a glowing purple triangle, indicating that a Shaman Challenge awaits you.

Navigate through the flowing water, dodging spikes. Once the challenge is completed, you will receive the Battering Stance Trinket. This trinket increases the damage enemies receive when they slam into each other or the environment.

Lifted Spirits Trinket

The Lifted Spirits Trinket is alsofound in the Buluu Caverns region, making it the only region that contains two Trinkets; the rest contain only one each. Similar to the previous Trinket, this one is also automatically unlocked due to story progression. When you reach the Workbench in Buluu Caverns, simply interact with it, and you will be rewarded with the second Trinket.

Trinkets can only be equipped or swapped via the Workbench.

The Lifted Spirits Trinket increases the amount of Spirit you receive when you juggle enemies in the air. Since early players won’t be performing complicated combos, the Battering Stance Trinket is probably a better choice to equip first. However, Spirits are used to heal and execute Spirit attacks, so if you are low on health or want to try out cool attacks, then you can opt for this Trinket instead.

Retaliating Spirit Trinket

The next Trinket on your list should be the Retaliating Spirit Trinket. It is located in thefar right corner of the Great Cliff Region. The challenge here is quite demanding, as its platforming requires precision jumps and dashes. Take a few tries to figure out what to do, and then focus on defeating it.

The Retaliating Spirit Trinket should be a must-have now. It basically gives you a consolation prize. Whenever you take damage from an enemy, you will receive Spirits, which is a resource used for healing and Spirit attacks.

Vigorous Spirit Trinket

The Vigorous Spirit Trinket can befound in the Ikakaramba region. Once you haveacquired the Akida’s Spear ability, return to the area with the lift in the region. Instead of descending, look to your left, and you’ll see a gate blocking your path. Throw the spear at the switch situated above it to open the gate. Now, enter and tackle the challenge; it might take you a few tries.

If you find yourself taking a lot of damage in the game, then this Trinket is perfect for you. It increases the amount of health you receive from healing. It’s an ideal Trinket to use in harder difficulties or if you are dying too many times.

Eluding Souls Trinket

The Eluding Souls Trinket issituated in the Drowning Swamps region. When you encounter the Workbench in this region, instead of descending, head right, and the Spirit challenge should present itself. Fortunately, this challenge is much easier than its predecessor; just remember that Acid deals little damage, whereas Spikes will instantly kill you.

If you’re annoyed by enemies that throw those pesky projectiles at you, then go ahead and equip this Trinket. The Eluding Souls Trinket gives Zau resistance to damage received from projectiles.

Prosperous Mind Trinket

The Prosperous Mind Trinket istucked away in the bottom middle-left area of the Wildwood region. If you’re having trouble finding it, refer to the above image. Once there, take up the challenge and defeat it.

Be cautious of swinging blocks and floor spikes, as they will instantly kill you, while arrows deal minimal damage. Additionally, remember to duck to avoid being killed by the middle spike.

The Prosperous Mind Trinket is for you if you want to acquire new skills as fast as possible. This Trinket ensures that you receivemore Ulogi from defeating enemies. Ulogi is aresource used to acquire Skills.

Heroic Stance Trinket

To acquire the Heroic Stance Trinket, you’ll need tohead to the middle-leftmost portion of the Nature’s Crown region. You’ll also need to have theZawada’s Hook upgrade in your possession, so if you don’t have it yet, then leave and come back later. If you do have the skill, then go ahead and give it a try. Use the hook to navigate through the course while avoiding the spikes.

Unfortunately, the Heroic Stance Trinket is the weakest trinket in the game. When equipped, you will deal bonus damage to enemies. However, you will rarely be at full health. It can be equipped in combination with the Vigorous Spirit Trinket.

Stone Soul Trinket

The Stone Soul Trinket is located in theupper-right corner of the Ember’s Spring region. This time, you will need tohave the Tawa’s Heart upgradeto reach the Spirit challenge.

Using Tawa’s Heart ability with the Sun mask will destroy the red barriers, while using it with the Moon mask will assemble the broken structures.

This course is also the longest challenge in the game, and thankfully, the reward is actually worth it. Stone Souls gives you resistance against melee attacks. It is a must-have Trinket that will help you in most scenarios.

Augmented Spirit Trinket

The Augmented Spirit Trinket is located atthe top area of the Searing Sands region, near the fire camp used for fast travel. To complete this challenge, you will need to have the Akida’s Spear andKabili’s Wing ability, the latter of which allows you to glide across and slows down your descent.

Glide down to the challenge area and destroy the breakable barrier blocking your path. Use the wings to progress through the course, avoiding the spikes. Whenever you encounter a barrier in your path, use the Akida’s Spear to destroy it.

The Augmented Spirit Trinket is yet another must-have Trinket as it increases the amount of Spirit you receive from defeating enemies. Combine it with the Prosperous Mind Trinket, and killing enemies has never been more beneficial.

Indomitable Soul Trinket

The Indomitable Soul Trinket can be found inthe top-left area of the Mount Itshoka region. It also requires you to have both Kabili’s Wing andTshukudu’s Might ability, the latter of which is also situated in this region. Once again, avoid the spikes as they one-shot kill you, and destroy the purple barriers using the Tshukudu’s Might ability.

The Indomitable Soul Trinket gives you a little help when you’re near death. Zau will receive resistance to all damage whenever his health is critical. Combining it with the Eluding Souls and Stone Soul Trinket will allow Zau to take a lot of punishment.

Final Stance Trinket

The last Trinket, the Final Stance, islocated near the starting area of the Enduring Rite region, situated above the first Workbench you encounter in the region. You know the drill at this point: avoid the pointy spikes, glide through the air, and destroy purple barriers in your path. Also, remember to duck when you get on the first platform that’s moving on the lava. Overall, this course is comparatively easier than some of the previous ones.

The Final Stance Trinket lets Zau deal more damage to his enemies whenever his health is low. You can combine it with other Trinkets like the Retaliating Spirit Trinket, and your character will be at his strongest whenever his health is critical.

Completing all challenges and acquiring all 11 Trinkets will unlock the Art of Trinketry Trophy/Achievement.
