In an interview with ComicBook, currentAEWtag team champion Kenny Omega stated thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeis his top game of 2020 so far. Since Omega’s finishing move is called One-Winged Angel, that shouldn’t come as a big surprise to anyone. Omega went on to say thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeis “one of the all time greatest” RPG video games. “It’s so incredible,” he said.

Omega also stated that he enjoyed theResident Evil 3remake and addressed the complaints that many had aboutRE3remake being too short. “I don’t need padding. I don’t need meaningless missions or meaningless goals or backtracking to just eat up time,” Omega said. Omega praisedResident Evil 3remake’s Nemesis, the game’s battle system, and more.
WhileFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeand theResident Evil 3remake may be Omega’s top games of 2020 so far, he has also likedCall of Duty: Warzone,Nioh 2, and the popular beat ‘em up revivalStreets of Rage 4. Needless to say, Omega makes an effort to play a wide variety of games, and it will be interesting to see if any future titles that have yet to launch in 2020 manage to steal the top spot fromFF7 Remake.
As far as older games go, Omega has praised the originalFinal Fantasy 7, as well asUndertale,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, andMega Man 2. He’s also spoken highly aboutMother 3in the past, stating that he cries every time he plays it.
